About this geometric pattern coloring page
Op art, short for optical art, uses simple shapes and strong contrast to create the illusion of movement. This page alternates tiles of nested squares and nested circles in a six by six grid, giving 144 regions, a medium page with large, clear shapes. Alternate black and white in each set of rings and the tiles appear to pulse; graduate one color from light to dark and they look like tunnels or targets. The layout is very forgiving and quick to color, which makes it a great page for trying bold color experiments without committing hours.

Coloring tips
For the classic op art effect, alternate a dark and a light color ring by ring inside every tile. For tunnels, go from light at the outer ring to dark at the center. Mixing squares in warm colors with circles in cool colors creates a vibrating checkerboard. Black and white alone gives the strongest illusion, and a single red tile placed off-center makes a striking focal point.
