About this geometric pattern coloring page
Pinwheels are one of the simplest and most cheerful quilt blocks: four squares, each split diagonally, turned so the triangles spin around the center. This page repeats the block across a four by four grid for 192 regions, a medium design. All the pieces are right triangles, so coloring is quick and the effect appears almost immediately. Alternate two colors in each block and you will see the pinwheels spin; color whole diagonal rows and you get chevrons and diamonds instead. It is a relaxed, playful page that feels very handmade.

Coloring tips
For spinning pinwheels, color the four 'blades' of each block in one bright color and the remaining triangles in white or cream. Change the blade color in every block for a scrappy quilt look. Prints of the finished page make nice handmade cards or gift tags. For a calmer look, keep every blade in shades of one color, such as five blues from pale to navy, and leave the background triangles white so the spin effect still reads clearly from across the room.
