About this mandala coloring page

A Hanukkah menorah stands at the heart of this mandala, with all of its lights burning. Eight candles sit on curved branches that rise from a central stem, and the raised shamash, the helper candle used to light the others, stands in the middle above them, for nine flames in all. Each candle is wrapped in a spiral stripe and each branch carries a round knob, so even the menorah itself has plenty of small shapes. Behind it, rays and rings of light spread out from the shamash flame across the inner circle. A ring of twelve Stars of David, set between small round beads, circles the scene, followed by bands of points and scallops, and a dreidel spins in each corner of the page. With 506 regions it is a detailed page for adults, a peaceful project for the eight nights of Hanukkah.

Coloring tips

Blue, white and silver are the traditional Hanukkah colors, so try a range of blues on the rays and rings with white or silver-grey menorah arms. Make the flames gold and orange, brightest at the tips. Color the Stars of David in a deep royal blue so they stand out against a paler ring, and give each corner dreidel a different shade.
