About this mandala coloring page
Real snow crystals grow with six arms, so this winter mandala uses sixfold symmetry throughout. A six-point star sits in the middle, surrounded by veined petals that read as frosty fronds, a zigzag ring, teardrops with inner outlines, a second set of veined petals and a border of dotted circles. There are 129 regions, a medium level of detail that suits a long winter afternoon with a hot drink. Because the pattern is so regular, it is very forgiving: if you choose a color scheme for one of the six arms, simply repeat it five more times. It makes a nice printable for seasonal cards or a calm activity during the holidays.

Coloring tips
Icy blues, whites and silvers are the obvious choice, and gradients from white to pale blue on the petals look like light catching on ice. For something less expected, try a midnight palette with a few gold accents in the dot ring. Leaving some regions white is fine here: on a snowflake, white space looks deliberate.
