About this mandala coloring page
A ring of little Christmas trees turns this mandala into a festive wreath of evergreens. At the center a many-petaled star blooms inside layered rings of petals, beads and points. Around it, eight small fir trees stand in a circle with their tips facing outward, each one with a star on top and stacked, scalloped tiers. Between the trees hang round baubles and tiny snow stars, so there is no empty background to fill with a single flat color. Beyond the tree ring come bands of teardrops, scallops and zigzags, and the four corners of the page hold fan shapes of their own. Sixteen-fold symmetry keeps it orderly even with 456 regions, which makes this a detailed page for adults rather than a quick one. Expect a few evenings of coloring, and enjoy watching the ring of trees take shape as you work around the circle.

Coloring tips
Give the eight trees two or three greens, from deep pine to bright spruce, and alternate them around the ring. Use gold or cream for the stars and let the baubles carry jewel tones like ruby, sapphire and amethyst. A navy or midnight blue in the background spaces makes the whole ring glow, as if the trees stood outside on a winter night.
