Coloring tips
Work the fan from the outside in: deep rust and brown on the long feathers, then copper, gold and mustard on the front row. Keep the feather eyes a single bright accent, such as teal or cream, so they read as a row of jewels. Color the body a warm chestnut, the breast pattern a little lighter, and save true red for the snood. A pale sky behind the turkey keeps all that pattern from feeling crowded.
